Fun Friday #18: 20 Names I Love But Won’t Be Using!💖💙

Happy Fun Friday!

Yesterday I took a look at my very first Fun Friday post, which was name’s I love but wouldn’t use. I shared that list back in March and I’ve added so many names since then! I’m obsessed honestly, I have about 70 written down.

For today’s post I decided to do an updated version sharing 10 girl names and 10 boy names that I love but probably wouldn’t use as my future child’s name. The name “Mireya” was in my last list but I’ve actually grown to really like it, mainly for a middle name but I’d definitely consider using it now. Many of the names on my list sound similar or have an A beginning/end because those are the type of names I prefer. They are still very different. I’ve also added a few of their meanings:)

Here is my updated list:
GIRLS💖

Analise– Honestly, I adore this name but the main reason I wouldn’t use it is because the first 4 letters spell… Anal. Now, I don’t know if my mind is just in the gutter but I don’t want the first few letters of my child’s name to spell Anal. I think she would hate it, and I feel like some people would point it out and make fun of it. If I ever use this name I would spell it “Aunalise” Auna for short. MEANING: Grace or devoted to God.*I also like Aunalia.

Alara– I really like the sound of this name but couldn’t see myself using it. MEANING: One who brings brightness and happiness to the soul, to the heart.

Indya– This is one of the names I thought I would someday name my daughter. Spelled India or Indya but now I see it as too common. I’m also not really interested in country/continent names anymore like India and Asia.

Yara– I got this name from the beautiful actress and model Yara Shahidi. I just couldn’t see this as my daughters name. MEANING: On Nameberry, the meaning is “small butterfly”
YaraS.jpg

Melody/Harmony– I’m using these 2 as 1 because they are both musical names, beautiful musical names I must add. I wouldn’t completely knock them, If I had twin girls I would probably consider these names. Maybe they would be blessed with great singing voices? That would be lovely. But with me being picky again, I have to point out “Harm” being the first 4 letters of Harmony lol.

Lilia/Lylia– Like Lily, this sounds so pretty but even better in my opinion. Again, this is just a name I couldn’t see my own daughter having.

Amberlee/Amberly– I started to like this name when I was in middle school or early high school days. It has a really pretty sound but the “Amber” is too common for me. MEANING: A jewel-quality fossilized resin; as a color the name refers to a warm honey shade.

Zuri– I first heard this name on Disney Channel on the show Jesse as Skai Jackson’s character and thought it was so beautiful! I only wouldn’t use this name because I’m not a fan of “Z” names for my own children. Guess what the meaning is??? MEANING: Beautiful

Hazel Won’t be using this name because it’s what I named one of my guinea pigs lol. Also because it’s a color. It’s also a type of tree and nut.

Aliza– I really love this name and the only reason I wouldn’t choose it is because I already know someone who named her daughter that. MEANING: Joy, joyful

BOYS💙

For the boy names most of these I wouldn’t choose only because there are other names I like better, or I couldn’t see myself using them.

Luca- I like how nice and short this name is, I just wouldn’t choose it for my son. MEANING: Bringer of light, Man from Lucania

Jeremiah– I like the sounding of Jeremiah, it’s just not for me.

Messiah– I love how powerful this name sounds. Probably because it’s pretty biblical. This name might be too much pressure though. MEANING: Annointed one

Eric– Another nice sounding short name. But this name is too common and also my ex’s name so that would be weird. MEANING: Eternal ruler

Tristan– I’m actually still on the fence about this name. Maybe I would use it, Maybe not. Who knows. I just know that I like it. As for the meaning, I saw several different meanings such as, a knight, tumult; outcry, bold, the loud one, lol… So I’m really not sure.

Antonio– This name probably isn’t as popular as it once was but it’s still kind of popular to me so I wouldn’t use it. Otherwise I really like it and would definitely consider it. MEANING: Worthy of praise; of value

Hendrix– I wouldn’t use this name for my son, it’s mainly a surname but I think it sounds really cool.

Malachi/Malakai– I’m not really a fan of M names for boys which is why I wouldn’t choose this name. It also sounds more like a pet name for a dog in my opinion. MEANING: My messenger/my angel

Kavan/Cavan– I just recently came across this name. I would probably use it for a middle name actually. MEANING: Handsome

Jahlil– Ever since I came across this name I’ve liked it. I only wouldn’t use it because I like other names better. But this could still very much be a possibility. I’m including it anyway:) MEANING: Great, Revered, Grand, Noble, Servant of the Majestic

That’s it! 20 names!
Do you like any of the names on my list? What is 1 girl and 1 boy name that would be on your list? Comment below.✨

A Few Updates & Thank You For 700 Followers!✨

A few updates…

  • My next post will be the last feature for my 500 Follower Q&A Game Series, I’ll be sharing another app
  • You may have noticed I haven’t been on Instagram much this past week, a lot has been going on. Also, I’m going to have to make another change there. UGH! So much change. There will also be something new with Twitter but i’m focusing on Instagram at the moment.
  • I said I was going to start my new blog right after I am done with features but I have decided to give myself 2 more weeks. This is so I can make final adjustments, be sure things are the way I want, get a few posts ready instead of just 1, and for a little rest. A little break from the pressure of uploading almost every day.
  • During these next two weeks I won’t be posting much, probably 2 or 3 times if any, and reposting old uploads. I will be using this time to reply to some of my many unanswered comments, and reading some of your posts as I haven’t lately. Expect to catch me in your comments soon:)
  • I have reached 700 followers, THANK YOU all so much! Especially since I haven’t been as active💛💛💛
  • This next update is kind of a story too: This past week has been full of ups and downs, but there was one moment that was kind of both at the same time. I recently signed up for a free trial on ancestry.com, I don’t know much about my family because I grew up in foster care and with aunts/grandmothers/sisters etc. My mother’s side is the side I know least about since she wasn’t around at all. I do know that she had at least 2 other children and gave them up for adoption. I saw one of them because he was taken away, we were all in court. He was about 1 at the time so not old enough to remember anything. His name is Dewayne and I always remembered that, and that he was a few years younger than I am. That’s all I knew. While searching on Ancestry, I found a few things about my mom and dad, and their parent’s that I already knew. I couldn’t find much more after that and was ready to cancel my free trial. Something told me to try a search one more time before officially giving up. I followed my intuition and searched Dewayne (with my last name) and an estimate of how old he might be. My guess was around 16.

I can’t explain the feeling I got when a name popped up with my mothers name as his mother! I was excited, surprised, and anxious to know more. I really just wanted to cry. It wasn’t a lot of information (only his full name, birthday, and our mother’s name) but it was more than what I had. My brother turned 18 in February. I turned 23 in March. For 18 years, he has not known that he has older siblings out there. For about 23 years I’ve known about him, out there somewhere. It will probably be much longer because I’m sure his last name is changed from adoption. A Facebook search led me nowhere. I wonder If his foster parents has told him much of anything yet? Since he is 18 now… I know some people make public posts when they are searching for a family member, but I guess I wasn’t ready to try that step yet. What if they don’t want him to know, but he has the right doesn’t he? For now I’ll be talking with family and asking more questions. I will continue to search for him until we finally meet. I am one step closer…

Life is changing and moving rapidly, but I feel that I couldn’t be more ready for these changes. I don’t know what will happen in the next few weeks, months, or years but I’m feeling growth happening, I’m feeling blessings coming. I’m feeling there is a great reason for all of this. This is why I’m trying my best to keep positive and keep the faith alive despite all the things that bring a challenge my way. Do you any of you understand this feeling? Have you felt this way before?

An Interesting Interview☺️

Hey everyone! I am back to share another interesting interview with you all. I had the opportunity to interview 5 bloggers (on #4 now) and this week I interviewed Dakota from Essential Living With Dakota. This whole week was dedicated to her blog.
I have just one more blogger to feature next week, and then I’ll be beginning my new journey, I’m so excited yet nervous at the same time.

But enough of that, we’ll talk more about that later. Let’s get right to the interview. Dakota’s answers are in italics.

    1. What is your favorite thing about having only boys? The connection. They say little boys fall in love with their mama, and there’s no better feeling than when they think I’m Super Woman. Wow! That must be an amazing feeling.
    2. What is the toughest thing about having 3 boys? Exhaustion and I don’t have a clue what I’m doing. lol. They never sit still. We’re constantly on the move. Mentally/emotionally, I have a hard time keeping up with them because they do a lot of crap where I’m like “wtf!? Is this a boy thing or a kid thing!?” LOL! I can only imagine!
    3. If you had 3 daughters, what would you name them? This one is tough. My husband and I have had the same girl name for 7 years. Hannah. 💜otherwise, I have no idea. Obviously my subconscious wants boys. but I like Avery and Rowan, too! Avery is such a pretty name, my very first best friend actually had that name.
    4. What are 3 boy names you like other than your sons names? Logan, Clayton, Landon.
    5. If you had to choose a different name for your blog, what would it be? Honestly, I have no idea. When I decided a blog was what I was going to do, Essential Living with Dakota was all that came to mind and I never looked back.
    6. If you had to create a new oil right this minute, what would be the first ingredient you’d grab? Frankincense! It’s the bomb dot com!
    7. What is your least favorite scent? In general, I don’t like floral scents. I’m more of a woodsy, citrusy, subtle chick.
    8. If you could combine 2 scents into one, which 2 would they be? Peppermint and Lemon! Bright, fresh, energizing! Peppermint and Lemon actually sounds very refreshing, I’d love to try that scent combo.
    9. If you had to choose between changing diapers every 5 minutes (literally) or putting a crying baby to sleep every 5 minutes for a whole day, which would you choose? Diapers. My mama heart aches with a screaming baby and I’ve had my fair share of crying every five minute days over the years.
    10. Finish this random sentence: “When my kids ____ I ____.” When my kids all play together, nicely, I thank God for a moment of sanity. Seriously guys, these kids are like velcro. I’m so thankful they want me to be a part of every little thing they do, but I’m so so thankful when they explore and use their imaginations together and let me pee in peace. 😂
    11. I saw that you recently had a girls night out. What is your ideal girls night? Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever had a girl’s night in the 6.5 years of mommin’. I’ve always felt guilty for leaving my kids. But that’s part of my promise to myself, that in order to be happy and healthy, I need to take some me time. All that to say – my ideal girls night would probably be grabbing my sister and going to get our nails done, grabbing dinner and a few drinks together. We rarely have time to catch up anymore. ❤
    12. If you had to choose one of these pets for your boys, which would you choose? A hedgehog, an iguana, or a chinchilla? Uhh, none? Lol. We don’t have pets. I’m not a pet person. But Maybe one day the boys will talk me into it, so for the sake of playing a long – hedgehog!
    13. What is the funniest moment you can remember with your husband? Oh man, I don’t know that I can pick just one. This guy keeps me laughing. I’m so blessed to have him walk this life with me. One particular moment doesn’t stand out for me, I just get the warm fuzzies and recall lots of laughter.
    14. What day of the month did you get married on? (Only the number) and give 1 hint about what month it is. 17. Warm! Hmmm, can any of you guess which month it is???
    15. Can you draw a football, a bottle of oil, and a strawberry? (I picked items relating to boys, your Instagram, and blog) The drawings don’t have to be perfect, this is for fun. Be sure to take a picture of your drawings and attach. strawberry😂 clearly I am no artist!

Lol I’m thinking my own drawings would look very similar.

I hope you all enjoyed reading Dakota’s answers. Do any of you have a son? Can you relate to any of Dakota’s answers? Comment below.✨

Fun Friday #16: Exploring A New App☺️

Happy Fun Friday!

I can’t believe I’ve been doing this for 4 months now. The last series standing lol.
This series has lasted longer than the many others I’ve had and I plan on continuing it. It’s been my favorite from the start!

This week we’ll be exploring an app again. The app: Font Candy

This is the free version so of course it has it’s limitations but the full version is $3.

When you open the app it will take you to your camera roll. We won’t be using any of my pictures of sweet Izabelle lol. Instead we’ll be using Dakota’s.

You have the option to crop your image into different sizes such as Instagram, Twitter post, iPhone Wallpaper and a few others. I’ll be keeping it original.

Font Candy has lovely fonts to choose from. You’ll notice some favorites from Canva and other apps but you’ll find others that aren’t in Canva also. The paid version will have more.

I am using the Masana Script font to add “Essential Living With Dakota

I also wanted to add some artwork. Choose from different packages such as Holiday Magic, Decorative, and Family Packages like Mom, and Together We Make A Family which are the two I’ll be using.

Final product:

If you want, there are also different templates to choose from also.

Here are a few below:

When you are finished you can choose any social site to share it to or create phone cases, t-shirts etc which I didn’t look into. It’s probably too pricey. Let me know if you check it out. The image was automatically saved in my library.

Let me know if you give this app a try and if you like it.💚

15 Signs You Might Be A Mom✨

Okay, I’m not a mother. I hope to be one day, but if I’m not a mother how can I come up with 15 signs one might be one???

The short answer to that is… I didn’t. Dakota did, from Essential Living With Dakota.💙
Dakota is the mother of 3 boys and she created this list herself, the list is actually longer but I’ve picked out 15 favorites that I definitely believe to be true by what I’ve seen so far in my own family, and with some of my friends. Here are the 15 I chose:

  1. Sleeping in feels like winning the lottery.
  2. Wearing leggings and an over sized shirt counts as dressing up.
  3. You use baby wipes to clean everything.
  4. You’re eating alone because everyone else has finished and left the table when you are finally able to sit down to eat.
  5. Your purse is full of legos and matchbox cars.
  6. You can no longer pee, or uhh #2, alone.
  7. It’s normal to smell another child’s butt to see if they were the ones who pooped.
  8. You have to say ‘do you want me to pull this van over!?’ before they know you mean business.
  9. You hear ‘Mommmmm’ at least 10 times before you even think about responding.
  10. You’re watching Disney movies and the kids have all gone to bed.
  11. You walk around with pieces of their breakfast on you and you don’t realize (or care)
  12. You can’t put on makeup without hearing ‘Do mine, Mommy! Do mineeee!’.
  13. You carry around a first aid kit at all times. Oh, and a snack kit.
  14. You hide in a closet to eat a piece of candy without having to answer a million questions.
  15. You feel so much love for such tiny creatures that simply looking at them brings a tear to your eye and you feel like your heart could burst watching them achieve such incredible things.

Now I don’t know about you, but parent or not I can relate to every single one of these in some way with someones kid in my family lol especially when you babysit.

Can you agree? What other signs can you come up with?

Exploring A Bloggers Instagram✨

It’s always great discovering new bloggers, but it’s even greater when you get to know them more through their blog posts and pictures, especially on social media.
Today we will be exploring Dakota’s Instagram. I’ll be sharing some of my favorite pictures from her page:) Dakota blogs at Essential Living With Dakota so be sure to check her out and follow.

Now, let’s check out her Instagram:

If you read her introduction post from yesterday, you already know that Dakota is a wife, mother of 3 boys, and a Young Living Essential Oil enthusiast.

This little visitor is adorable can you agree?💛
Family time is always something to cherish. The boys facial expressions are perfect! Lol.

Dakota’s family has been remodeling their home and the story behind this photo is that Dakota came home that morning and saw this on a 2×4 that was getting taken out the following week. Her son Benjamin wrote it, they’ve always told each other “I love you to the moon and back.”
When kids insist on helping with laundry😂

This is one of those moments I’d love to experience when I have kids someday. Relaxing in the backyard, enjoying life and nature as they play.

I can admit that this is literally the cutest, sweetest picture and quote I’ve seen all day. I love it!💙

This looks great! I’d definitely enjoy this ice cream for breakfast any day lol.
Wonderful mom precious moments. That’s what this picture says to me.

If you’ve followed Dakota’s blog, go ahead and follow her Instagram also. Right now she has 175 pictures so she’s very active and consistent. You won’t be disappointed adding her to your feed.✨

Inspiration of the day✨

Today I have two quotes that I found on Pinterest. If you can see the header image you can guess that it’s going to be about family❤️

It doesn’t matter how big or fancy your living situation is, if you’re with a loving family and everyone is working together- that’s bigger than anything. Ask yourself, If the walls in your home could talk what secrets would they tell?

No matter where you are or where you go, regardless if you argue or fight family is always family. A friend isn’t always a friend… A relationship doesn’t always last. Family is forever. Take care of each other, support each other, tell them you love them because you won’t always get that chance. Everyone can be different and choose different paths but you share the same roots, you’ll always be connected. Don’t take family for granted, not everyone can say they have a loving home or come from strong healthy roots.

Take this time to forgive someone who has hurt you whether it was a silly argument or something more serious. You don’t have to do it for them, forgive them for yourself and everything else can follow. Take this time to let your mom, dad, sister, brother or anyone in your family that you love them. A great conversation or connection may follow, you never know. What you do know is that you won’t regret not telling them, if it were the last time.

Don’t let your family tree die, help to keep it alive and growing.

🌳
