Change is inevitable.

Change is inevitable. Change can also be very frustrating, or scary and may require some new adjusting.

Yesterday afternoon there was a big change in my life. As many of you know, I got my first apartment, my boyfriend and I. This post was planned for Fun Friday #3 but we got SO busy, nothing went as planned. We didn’t actually settle in until about 11 last night, both exhausted! The only thing that seemed “fun” at that time was bed and rest.

I’m thankful to have a great friend, she helped us move our belongings and let us borrow her truck while she handled some business of her own. She was also just as excited, if not more for us. We’ve all been waiting for this moment for a long time.

Our first night in the apartment was nice, though I didn’t sleep too well. I think it was just the excitement and new sounds that kept my thoughts awake. We have to get use to new things, paying all bills now on our own, and adjusting to the way things work and play at this apartment complex but I know it will all be fine.

During the next few days/weeks we plan to add more furniture and decor. We’re pretty much getting everything brand new so it’s going to be a process. I have a few pictures to show you an unofficial tour…

This is our new beginning.✨

This is first walking in, the living room was a bit messy last night since we were just bringing everything there while unloading. We’ve gotten a lot put in place now, but still a long way to go.

Here is a view of the balcony, nothing fancy but I can’t wait to add chairs and a small table☺️

If you haven’t noticed, our microwave is siting on top of the poor little stove lol, we’re going to get a small table today for it and dish rack for the counter space we do have.

I love the bedroom window.

And here are shots of the hallway, bedroom window view (which isn’t all that great but hey, look at the beautiful sky lol!) and of course the bathroom, which has the most progress so far- nearly done. I love the color combination I chose, it goes well with the wall, tile, and cabinet. I’ll probably change the shower curtain a few times, sometimes I get bored looking at the same design and decor.

Once we have all our furniture and bedroom ready I will do a full tour and start my home decor DIYs☺️

It’s been a busy past few days and there’s only more to be done. I should be back more frequently very soon but there will definitely be a Fun Friday post This Friday!

I’m actually in the car while making this post, don’t worry I’m not driving! We’re on our way to get more goodies for the apartment lol. *Don’t blog and drive…or text*

My Apartment MUST Haves

Getting your very first apartment/home is an accomplishment to be proud of and it’s also exciting. You finally get to be out on your own in your own space, even if it’s just a small apartment. Even if it’s not the fanciest or most expensive apartment, it’s still yours to call home. Yours to decorate and have your own set of rules. So, what to do with all of this new space? Aside from all of the obvious things needed (food, utensils, bed, etc) Here are MY apartment must haves:

APTMUSThaves

MUST HAVES:

  • COMFY couch and fleece throw. The couch for the living room MUST be comfortable to sit and sleep on lol. And I just have to have a fleece throw on or near by in case I want to Netflix & Chill, or take a nice afternoon nap.
  • Decorative pillows!
  • Recliner or accent chair
  • Coffee table
  • Storage cubby organizer or shelf unit
  • Tv in living and bed room
  • Candles
  • Lamps
  • Beautiful, inspirational wall art
  • Gold decor
  • A pets allowed apartment!
  • Space for my guinea pigs, and cat soon 🙂
  • Book shelf (if enough space available)
  • Vacuum
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Fan/Heater
  • DIY bulletin board/Dry erase board (some type of to do list/planner)
  • Calendar
  • Wine and wine glasses! Yes, very specific lol. I want to always have a bottle of wine available and wine glasses to drink from for my own personal time.
  • Desk area
  • Vanity
  • Full length mirror
  • Blender
  • Microwave
  • Water filter/purifier
  • Extension cord
  • Nice/matching comforter set
  • LARGE clothes hampers (I need at least 2) lol
  • Dresser
  • An ottoman. I’d love to have this for sitting and extra storage.
  • Balcony table & chairs (Our apartment comes with a small balcony)

If it was a house (dream house) MUST haves:

  • In ground swimming pool
  • Entertainment room (Gaming, Movies, etc)
  • Sectional couch
  • Office
  • Furnished basement
  • Washer/Dryer hook up
  • WALK IN closets
  • 2 bathrooms
  • Big yard/Patio
  • Everything in the apartment must haves 🙂

What a list! I’m not even sure if that’s everything- yikes! lol. I may have forgot a few things or it’s just about right. I know I won’t be getting all of these things at once, but eventually I do plan to have most, if not all once fully settled in. Let me know in the comments your must haves. Is there anything on my list that wouldn’t be on yours?

Until next time, love Lee.

and happy living!

What have I been doing? +Updates

Hello lovely readers! It feels like it’s been SO long since I’ve made a post or read any but I’ve got time today and I’m very excited😊 I can’t wait to start my binge reading right after this.

So, what have I been up to?

I’ve mainly been focused on ways of earning and saving money towards the new apartment, and other bills of course. This consists of working, cutting down on certain splurges and entertainment, and even pawning things for a little extra cash. I wish money did grow on trees.

My boyfriend and I have also been doing a lot of shopping, looking around to get some ideas of how we’d like to decorate and just seeing what different furniture/home decor stores have to offer. I actually plan to DIY a few decor items and have a short blog series on everything I make for each room- we’ll see how that goes lol. Stay tuned👀

While at hobby lobby I found a few lamps that I absolutely LOVE! I know I’m going to have a hard time choosing between them but either one will look very nice in the living room or bedroom. I’ll include pictures and prices below:

(My picture) I really love this Antique gold geometric lamp. Most of the lamps were $60+ but now are on sale! I’m glad we didn’t actually buy any yet😃

My pictures don’t really show these beautiful lamps any justice lol. All of them look as good as they do on the website photos. This one is a pineapple shaped lamp 🍍 how cool is that?! Who doesn’t love pineapples???

I must say that these last two lamps are my favorites. This one I love that the base is round, with that nice texture and that gold of course!

I actually couldn’t find this one on the website so I don’t know the exact price but look how beautiful they look! White roses?! Very elegant. I don’t see how you could go wrong here unless you get EVERYTHING white dirty. I think this would even be a nice wedding gift lol maybe. It reminds me of a wedding. What do you all think?

I also went to Michaels which is another hobby/craft store like Hobby Lobby. There I only picked up two items, which really could count as one but I can’t wait to use them!

When you get a new apartment or house, you have to get a key right? So why not have a nice keychain to put it on?

(Both keychains together⬆️)

This is something else the camera doesn’t do any justice for. The gold, and the rhinestones are so beautiful in person especially in sunlight I’m sure you could imagine. It doesn’t look cheap despite them both being nomore than $6. And look at the glasses on the little fur ball- OMG! 😍🤓

It’s going to be so fun adding my 🔑  and using it for the first time. Can April come any faster?

UPDATES:

-My birthday has passed but I will be celebrating this weekend 🎉

-New post on Thursday!

-Stay tuned for a few series that will be starting (April,May)

Thank you ALL for reading and sticking around. Let me know in the comments which lamp is your favorite, and if you did anything exciting this past weekend.

Until next time, love Lee.❤️
